Welcome to Beet Knife’s Best of 2019, where we’ll continue to share our faves of 2019 well into 2020. Today’s feature was selected by Beet Knife’s Recording Engineer Evan Asher, who also plays in Suck City, Moss Jaw, and No Tongues for Quiet People.
This was by far my most played song of 2019. Omni, who released a full length via Sub Pop in 2019, teased their new direction with these two songs earlier in the year. These songs show a shift in both musical content and fidelity for the trio. While maintaining their post-punk roots, the band leans a little harder into their 60/70’s influence with these cleaner, more refined, and honestly dancier tunes; which is exactly where the full length ended up heading.
“Delicacy / I Don’t Dance” is available as of April 12, 2019 on Sub Pop.
