Best of 2019: Patti — “Good Big”

Welcome to Beet Knife’s Best of 2019. We’ll be sharing a favorite release from one of the artists we work with every day for the month of December. Today’s feature was selected by Beet Knife’s Recording Engineer Evan Asher, who also plays in Suck City, Moss Jaw, and No Tongues for Quiet People.

Back in October, three piece art-punk outfit Patti from Brooklyn put out Good Big, which is probably my favorite release of the year. Every song is under 3 minutes and the group does a good job at keep you guessing about what’s next. Spoiler alert: you’re probably wrong! It’s post-punk that shifts seamlessly between abrasive and playful that’ll make you want to dance along only to realize you don’t exactly know how. But maybe that’s the fun of it.

Good Big is available as of October 1, 2019 on Erste Theke Tontraeger.
